Wynwood Walls

May 22, 2016

When you think of Miami, you may think of the glitz and glam the city has to offer but right on the edge of it all is a thriving art community. Wynwood Walls is a spunky section of Miami that houses colorful graffiti wall art. You will see a mix of creative murals and patterns all lumped into this area. Not only that, Wynwood also has a wide selection of eateries. From your local hipster coffee shop to raw oats at the organic inspired restaurant, this place has it all.

Panther Coffee

A specific coffee shop I stopped at for a quick refreshment was Panther Coffee.  This place accepts orders online or through the Square Order app. Once you order your caffeine goodness, swing by, avoid the line, and enjoy your coffee. Thankfully for me, the line wasn’t so busy so I opted to wait. I really liked the variety of coffee condiments they had set out for customers for coffee customization.

Acai Bowl

The local farmer’s market was in full swing this particular weekend displaying all kinds of wonderful foods. I am a big fan of Acai bowls and this dragon bowl that I tried was nothing but light and refreshing. I sampled little bits from all the vendors as I roamed around and they were all nothing but delightful. Wynwood Farmer’s Market is open on Saturdays from 11am – 6pm.

Wynwood Walls

Wynwood Walls has art walks where you can leisurely enjoy the street art or go on guided tours of the street art and art in the galleries. Guided tours are offered on Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays and has a variety of tours you can choose from. I like leisurely walking around and exploring the hidden art in random parts of the buildings.

Patterns, Patterns, Patterns

Lets talk about patterns. I know the Wynwood Walls are usually full of colors and patterns so I thought this would be a great time to wear this beautiful patterned asymmetrical medallion wrapped skirt I got from the LOFT (find exact one here- ON SALE!). The design and pattern felt Moroccan inspired with the light blue and dark red color. This skirt is a little bit longer in the front and fits true to size (I am a size 4). It is comfortable and can be dressed up or down! The skirt is so comfortable, it just makes me want to jump with joy!

If you are ever in South Florida, head on over to Wynwood Walls to enjoy the fabulous creativity of the local artists. Whether it is through wall graffiti, culinary experiments, or plant arrangements, it is all a work of art here at Wynwood.

Until next time!

Yours truly, Linh
