I want to start by saying that I am a bit saddened that majority of my photos were accidentally deleted but the show must go on! I was only able to salvage three so my main focus will be on the skirt and heels.
I found this skirt at New York & Company on sale! I love midi skirts and I thought this one was the perfect length with the right amount of poof and it also has pockets! Not to mention, the teal against the black and white really makes the skirt vibrant in the sun. New York & Company is usually known for their women business clothes but I think their style has changed over the past couple of years. When I was younger, I used to go here with my mom all the time and there wasn’t much color variations. Now, you are starting to see more mix match of vibrant colors rather than neutral tones.
I paired this skirt with some edgy heels I got on sale from Zara and they definitely make a bold statement. I think these kind of heels are great with short or midi skirts. This specific heel has a smaller strap under the thick one to secure your ankles. The thick buckle is a bit cumbersome because you just slip it under a ring like a belt buckle and it comes loose if you are dancing or walking a lot. If you like this kind of heel, I recommend getting ones with a zipper on the back or just one strap to secure your ankles.
I completed my look with a turquoise (my favorite color!) necklace my boyfriend got me for Valentine’s Day! I talked about how I love statement pieces in my last post so this was the perfect gift to add to my collection!
[Side note: I usually wear yoga bras with sheer shirts. If you look closely, my black shirt is sheer and almost see through but I wore a black yoga bra to make it look like an under shirt. It is more comfortable than wearing a cami, especially if you are going to tuck in your shirt! It gets hot in Florida so this has been a great alternative to keeping me constantly refreshed and not sweating like crazy!]
